Irwin McLean
science – art – craic
Irwin McLean
Irish scientist now trying to be more arty, retired and living in Aultbea, Wester Ross, located in the wild Northwest Highlands of Scotland.
I wander about enjoying nature, meeting people, photographing stuff, fishing, looking at the stars, writing fiction and non-fiction, playing the piano badly and enjoying the craic/crack.
This website is aimed at sharing some of my photos and other hobbies outside of the “normal” social media platforms (or as I think of them, advertising platforms).
I hope you find it fun, which is my only aim (both here and in general).
If you want full quality versions of photographs, videos etc, have any suggestions for collaborations, or any other queries, please feel free to contact me (link above).
Sign up below if you would like to receive almost zero email with updates of major new additions to my site.

Sure it’s all just a bit of crack anyway
Roger & Brian Eno
A major highlight of 2020 was when one of my short films was chosen by Roger Eno and Brian Eno as the official online video for their composition “Moss”, from their “Mixing Colours” album.
